: Hi it seems as if this is a wonderful board. My son is 9 mild to moderate autism diagnosed at 6 His latest thing is smells he can't tolerate the smell of lettuce(I didn't even realize had a smell!) we had a salad luncheon at church today and he went and sat in the far corner. He also can't handle the smell ofHe onions and he WILL NOT go in Bath and Body works (One of my favorite stores.) He has had sound issues for years certain sounds he can't tolerate which I know is typical but has anyone else experienced the smell issue?
> Yes my son is 7yrs old an mildly autistic. he also smells everything, even us. He is not very vocal about not dislikeing the smell, but if he dosn't like the smell of a food he won't eat it. Of course his Grand parents think he should eat it no mater what he thinks. They have even tried to hide it under mash potatoes, first try he eats the potatoes and spits out what he dosn't like. I also worry about him not getting what he needs with all of the talk about diets and lack of vitamins etc. Hope someone has some advice that worked for them. Take care Greg
