: While I am here I have been missing church and in my hy
: urry to catch the plane I also forgot to pack my Bible, there's a small church five minutes walk down the steps in this village but I don't understand what's said, so I started receiving a daily passage from the bible from EMAZING (an internet service, a search should find it easily). It is a comforting, inspiring experience and I'm going to keep it up when I get home. Today's message was especially beautiful and I'd like to share it with you here. As a mother of an autistic child I used to sometimes be very "fearful of heart" of what lay ahead for Emma if I died ahead of her, who would look after her, who would understand her etc. Mostly I would try to block her future out of my mind, sometimes I would dwell on trying to make arrangements for her when she was on her own. This passage arrived for me from AMAZING today:
: Isaiah 35.4
: The Access Bible, NRSV, Old Testament, Page 917
: "Say to those who are of a fearful heart, 'Be strong, do
: not fear! Here is your God. He will come with vengeance,
: with terrible recompense. He will come and save you.'"
: And so I do say to every autistic person, child and adult, and every relative of an autistic person, "Be strong, do not fear!..."
Thank you for the verse Vanessa! Joe acted very naughty at church yesterday. After I got the kids to bed last night, I bawled. I often worry about what lays ahead. Thanks for the encouragement.
