In Reply to: How can i find out the proper dosage of CLO and urocholine for my children? posted by Sepideh on September 17, 2000 at 05:02:16:
Dr Megson doses the CLO based on a child's weight. There is a protocol
by Dr. Woody McGinnis based on Dr. Megson's research. For children
2-5 years old it is suggested that 2500 IU CLO be given in 2 divided doses.
That would be 1250 IU twice a day. I have found this too high for my 3 and 1/2
year old and have dropped to 625 IU twice a day. You may want to visit Dr.
Megson's website at www.megson.com. CLO must be given for 2 months
then Urecholine must first be given in the DR's office as there can be a problem
with bronchospasm or bronchil constriction at which case , atropine would be given
immediately. They use a small dose of Urecholine in a liquid form. I called Dr. Megson's
office and asked, but you can take a copy of her study to an MD and when it is time
for the Urecholine it can be given in the Dr's office. Then they give you instructions for
at home dosing.
Hope this helps,
