I know how you feel, Alison, because my daughter also regressed after two years of normal development. You can try the diet, but keep in mine that in only works for some children, so don't stop there. Have your son tested for all possible medical conditions - get an EEG, an MRI, blood work, genetic testing, hearing tests (brain stem), etc. Also read Dr. Goldberg's website www.neuroimmunedr.com and read the work of Dr. Wakefield, Dr. Amy Holmes, and others to see if anything rings a bell.

This is NOT autism - something happened to your son and you need to find what it was. I know the heartbreak is so bad you just want to crawl in a hole and curl up, but you can't. You are your child's best and only advocate, so hit the streets, try to find what happened, and meanwhile get the best possible early educationcal intervention for him (ABA or Greenspan; anything intensive that's one-on-one) I wish you luck and strength, it's a long road. From now on you will live and breath "autism" every waking moment! You can e-mail me if you like, to chat
