The book information was valuable, thank you, but a blanket recommendation against drugs was not a good idea. "Not taking the drug route" can result in permanent damage if there are seizures. See an MD.

: My child has an abnormal EEG and also has seizures. We discovered her seizure threshold is related to hypoglycemia. So long as she is on a hypoglycemic diet she doesn't have seizures, however this may not always be the case. There's a great book call "Seizures and Epilepsy in Childhood: A Guide for Parents" by John M. Freeman, M.D.; Eileen P.G. Vining, M.D.; and Diana J. Pillas. The literature states that plenty of people have abnormal EEG's and never have seizures and others have normal EEG's and develope seizure disorder. Go figure. Anyway, this diet is working (so far) for our child. We hesitate to use anti-convulsants as she is autistic. There aren't many parents out there who search for the threshold and make the necessary changes. But those that I've spoken with say it is far better than going the drug route.
