My son is only 4 years old but for the last two years he has shown the same behaviour. My husband is in the Forces and he goes away frequently. My son has formed an obsessional attachment to his father in that he becomes frantic when his dad leaves the house. His behaviour with me is similar to your son's in that he is uncontrollable and totally non-compliant. He rejects me constantly. He cuddles his dad but not me. Up until six months ago my son was regularly attacking me in the form of biting and scratching. He still hits out at me and resists any form of discipline from me. No matter what i do he will not comply. It feels like nobody believes me because this behaviour has never been demonstrated to the professionals involved and my husbands family especially, who are in denial over his diagnosis, blame me and have suggested that it is my fault. I know exactly how you feel, the pain and desperation. I have wanted to walk away many times and often feel resentment towards my husband. My son should love me and he doesn't and that really hurts.
