: I don't know what to do. We can not communicate with him as he is only somewhat echolalic. He screems at the sight of food and is refusing to drink as well. He gets bearly enough to stay alive. My wife and I are very worried and don't know what caused this behavior. What can we do?

I had the same problem with my son. Recently we tried a drug called risperdal for his moods. Some of the side effects are , sleeping all night and the child wanting to eat. My son gain 9 pounds in 5 months. He is trying different foods for the first time. This is something to think about and a behavioral feeding specialist. Good luck and if you want to talk more on this you can email me.
