: An English 24 month old boy, recently diagnosed with mild autism had gromits inserted into his ears to clear blockages (UK doctors call this "Glue Ear").
: The operation improved his hearing however now he has a discharge comming from his ears that smells terrible. Absolutely awful, really.
: Does anybody know what this is and how long it should last?
: Family Physician say not to worry. Next Consultant's appointment is not for 2 weeks
: Thanks for all and any relpies!
My cousins have had grommits inserted and this alieviated the problem only for a short while.
Is the boy on a gfcf diet? Allergies and intolerances are probably the biggest cause
of glue ear, in my opinion, check out this site for info on
allergies and intolerances, you'll be amazed at the problems these can cause!
I'm not suggesting this particular lab is used for testing, though it's highly reputable,
it pays to shop around if your friend decides to test for these. Also their doctor might
be willing to test for these, on the NHS if provided with the information.
I sincerely hope this helps,
