This reminds of when our son wouldn't eat because he had a toothache and we didn't know it. Everything that entered his mouth caused him pain, even water. It doesn't even have to be a cavity. Any trauma to a tooth (playground accident, for instance) can make it very sore.

: Thank you. I will check into esophagitis and endoscopy and colonoscopy . He has been gluten-casein free for about a year now as well as many supplements. We are currently giving him something for minimizing gas. He is improving modestly but not enough. We have to coax him to eat and drink. Interestingly, he has tried a few new food items. This is extremely rare for him. He is the ultimate picky eater, but he is not even eating his preferred foods. Even more troubling is his refusal to drink and also the panic he displays when we attempt to nurish him. He seems out of danger for now but we are all a bit edgy.
