I've written before about not being able to accept the Autism diagnosis. The reason being is that
my daughter totally changed after her bout with Lyme Disease. Only 2 months after she ended
her treatment she was diagnosed as a high functioning Autistic (but not Asperger due to her
speech delay). I now accept that she is Autistic regardless of what I think "caused" it and I'm
considering putting her on the GFCF diet. We're also trying to get her into the early intervention
program in our school system. Unfortunately they say the evaluation could take up to 90 Days!
I thought the speech and Neurological evaluation she had before would have been enough to get
her right in. I still want to check into the Lyme possibility and would like to hear from anyone
who's child who is in a similar situation. There was a person who posted a message
(on a different message board) who's son had Lyme and was autistic. I tried his e-mail but it
came back as user unknown.
I just wanted to say I think these boards are wonderful and I've learned so much from others.
I don't know what I would have done without them!
