Hi Lippy, I should have my husband answer this post, but I dont want to get him started. I am the one with the bad back, back surgeries etc. My husband never had a back problem. About a 1.5 ago we went and bought a very expensive, king size, orthopedic, top of the line bed. I love it!!! It's helped me so much before and after surgery. I look forward to go crawel into bed every night. My husband hates it!!! He wakes up every morning just like you, with back pain. I've told him that it would be a difficult decision if I had to choose between him and the bed :) The old bed had a huge groove in the middle, I would roll in the middle of the bed every night, he finds that mattress to be more comfortable. I dont get it? As far as your hips hurting, every morning mine hurt because I only sleep on my right side, and I dont really move from that position. As far as a solution goes, my husband and I are considering those king size beds that you can adjust each sides firmness the way you want. I dont know much about it, I know he found a website that sells them. Good Luck, and I hope you find a solution soon. Maria (Bos)
