Hi Rex, I just met someone who had herniated his C5-C6, C6-C7 discs. He has weakness in his arms, and he couldnt do a simple task as to touch his thumb with his pinky. We were waiting in the lobby for our turn to have our cordison-steroid shots. This was goin to be my 3rd unsuccesful one, and this was going to be his 8th succesfull one. I have lumbar problems, and I knew that there was little it could do for me. He told me that he had had 3 lumbar discectomies, and a laminectomy, and when he herniated his cervical discs he swore no more surgery. Bottom line, he goes every 5-6mos and has his shots, and he has no pain. Sorry for the long message, I just hope that you can find other types of treatements for your back problem before you even think about surgery. What did your doctor recommend for treatements? Have you tried physical therapy yet? Stay well, and pain free Maria (Bos)
