Hehehehe - do I have to tell you, too? laughing this hard really hurts! :) (They do say laughing is the best medicine, though, don't "they"?) After wiping the hilarious tears from my eyes, I can now answer.....I believe the reason that bowel obstruction can be a complication of this surgery is that because they go through the front, it temporarily "paralyzes" the digestion system. Also, they kind of take stuff out of your stomach and lay it aside to get it out of the way, in order to reach the spine. Everything in the way gets tossed and pushed around pretty good, and this can cause problems with bowels. I THINK that's why. I certainly will post an "I WENT" bulletin if I do. I'm sure everyone in the world will be immensely relieved! :) (man, how did I ever have the guts to post this question in the first place?! like I don't do enough embarassing, stupid pet tricks without adding to them on-line! :) Oh well, I'm glad I could contribute to some laughter and fun with this great group!
God bless your days!
Jill
