Hi Hank - I know I've seen this or similar question posted here before - if you do a search here under "IDET" or "IDET approval" you might find something. Same with search engines. I do know it's FDA approved and don't understand how BC/BS can call it experimental. Is there an appeals process that you can go through with BC/BS? I think I'd do searches on the procedure, document success rates and studies done (you can find these using search engines like www.thebighub.com, www.dogpile.com, www.iwon.com, etc.) and present some of that data to BC/BS. It's worth a shot anyway.

I have heard both positives and negatives regarding the IDET procedures, plusses being a fairly good success rate, and minuses being that the relief can often be only temporary, resulting in the need for additional surgery in the future. I hope you can find the info you're looking for. Best wishes, and God bless your day!
Jill
