In Reply to: Talcen (Penatazocine) Med. Anyone? posted by Francesca on October 19, 2000 at 15:43:38:

: Hi guys anyone ever hear of this med.? Doc. just prescribed it for me because of the weather (when it gets cold I DIE! Back goes into terrible spasms to say nothing of the severe pain. And it's cold here for me today and yes the spasms and pain are unreal!)

: Trying to find info. on it on the net and having no such luck? I can't recall any posters ever mentioning this as a pain med. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Be well all.

Dear Francesca:
I have a Drug of Abuse (dated 1988) book from my former son-in-law who used to be a DEA agent. Another name for Talcen is Talwin. It is classed as a narcotic analgesic. It also has tylenol in it. My PDR says it is equal to codeine, mg, per mg. Someone gave me one a few years ago and I ended up talking and talking and talking. Sort of hyped me up. Hope this helps a little. Take care, Pat G.
