I had L5 S1 fusion on October 11th, posterior. The first four days were murder but I am 10 days postop and only pain I have is from the hip graft.
My doctor told me 50% also,but I think he knew it would be better. I feel I will be one of the success stories and I have suffered for 15 years refusing to have surgery.
I researched these message boards till I was blue in the face, scared to death. Trust your doctor and have a positive attitude. Above all FOLLOW your doctors directions to the tee afterwards.
