What is prolapsed? Never heard of that. I fitted in the sequestered/fragmented category (now there's a surprise - meaning the worse. I have extremely bad luck!)
Bulging discs can go back and not cause any problems as well as herniated discs depending on how badly they are herniated and what nerves they may be impinging upon if any. Most likely if the disc is herniated severely or fragmented it will not go back, so if you fall into this category don't wait for a miracle to happen because it won't.
