: well tomorrow is the big day i am going in for a fusion have been putting this off for a year now and it just got worse am on several pain meds i think a fusion is better than a liver transplant any advice would be greatly appriciatedalso any prayers geuss i'll be talking with you guy's in a few days so long and thanks .

I have had 4 fusions myself and am having my 5th on Nov. 17th. The first week after the operation will be quite rough, but it gets better with each day. Make sure you walk as much as you are able after the operation. It not only gets you out of the house and into the real world but it also keeps your muscles from getting too far gone and it builds back up the stimina you will lose. The more you can walk after surgery (safely) the better you will feel. Go for as many short walks as you can. Even if they are only for a couple of minutes at a time.Best of luck to you.

Steve
