Ben : I hope the IDET works for you . I had 2 level S1-L5 & L5-L4 done last Dec and it didn't work for me, I wish it did so I wouldn't be sitting here like this, but what are you going to do. Sh&* happpens. Good Luck with your recovery. Sue K
: just started physical therapy.it's an important part of the idet procedure in fact my doc says it's about 50% of the overall procedure.it's very important know matter what it makes you feel right.and let me tell you it wasn't very comfotable.the overall pain level has increased since i had the idet done one month ago but the doc says thats about normal.since i had a two level idet it will take twice as long compared to a singal level idet.the overall pain is consideable higher than befour i had the idet done.alot of leg cramping buttock pain and numbness in the thigh area. been off from work since june. nothing like dealing with workmans comp. and trying to keep a good attitued.the good part is i've stopped taking oxycontin and oramorph for the pain insted i take norco for the pain and elivil to help with my mood swings and also it helps me fall a sleep easer.the mood swings came about when i stated to see know end to this back injury and that the possabilty of not being able to reture to my old job.the injury accured at work when i fell down a flight of staires.i also may have to have surgery to an injury to my neck.i'm still positive that my choice of having the idet done was the right choice. anything better than having your back cut open. there is the other choice if the idet did fail you still can have the surgery.still it feels good to do some exersize instead of mopping around the house all day feeling sorry for yourself and belive me i did.sometimes you need a good kick in the butt to relize there are alot more people worse off than me.it took my girlfriend to achive the right placement for the kick.so far workmans comp has approved all of the procedures iv'e needed but still i retained a good lawyer just in case and from reading all of the post i made the right decision.it's going to be a long road to recovery but i still have good faith that hopefully i will one day be able to golf again.heck just getting half my life back will better than nothing.so i would still recamend the idet but you have to relize it's not a quick fix and it will take time.the recovery time will be anywhere from 3 months to 6 months befour you can see an inprovment.hang in there everyone.will post more often.if you need to e-mail me it's bjames@peoplepc.com. ben
