Thank you for your reply....which reminds me, I was going to ask for suggestions for meds, if anyone (especially anyone who has had a fusion) knows what might be a good one to ask the doc about. I will check out the "ultram". I'm not totally opposed to narcotics, it's just that I don't want to get "hooked", and the other, more important, reason, is that they practically bring my digestive system to a TOTAL HALT. Also I don't like the "dopey" feeling. Are there alternatives that anyone knows about - non-narcotics that are NOT anti-inflammatories?
