: I had anterior/posterior fusion of spine L2-S1 with instrumentation & cages about 7 years ago. I've been fairly pain free since. Last May 9th I woke up in incredible pain below where I had my surgery. I had an arthritis panel done which showed normal, I tried PT which didn't help, I tried cortisone shots in the S-I joints thinking that might be the problem, but they didn't help, the last doctor I went to just said it was mechanical pain & it would just go away as suddenly as it came. Its been 6 months and I'm still waiting. I've tried a regiment of drugs which provide little to no relief. Has anyone else experienced pain in this area or does anyone have a clue as to what it might be?
