Buddy, Your going to have a limp noodle anyway for a while weather you like it or not, But you and your noodle will be fine, unless the janitor is doing surjury.
: I just found out that there is a 1-2 percent chance that a man who has a anterior lumbar fusion could end up impotent after the operation. Apparently there is a bundle of nerves that is in the way of exposing the spine and when the surgeon attempts this there is the possibility of damaging the nerves and being left with a "limp noodle" for the rest of your life. Has anyone heard of this complication and what would you do if you wre me? I can have another procedure from the back but the anterior approach is clearly the best choice for me.I am really scared and don't know what to do. I need the wisdom of this board to help me make the right decision.
