I had a micro-discectomy almost one year ago for two ruptered discs at L4-L5 and L5-S1. Everything is going well.

: Has anyone had a two level disc surgery? I have three components of pain. One is back pain, two is pain in the fronts of my thigs which runs down through my knee and three is pain in my buttocks and backs of legs. THe leg pain is being caused by a rupture at L3-4 and L4-5, respectively. I had an operation on L4-5 in 98 and it helped with the leg pain, but the disc re-ruptured and now the leg pain in the backs of the thighs is back. I've discussed with my surgeon doing the L3-4 disc surgery..and I should be having it in december....but I've thought about asking if there is a possibility of operating on the other disc as well. Has anyone done this? Are there any draw-backs??
