: Lori: How do you feel after your discectomy? I need a laminectomy for a L5-S1 herniated disc. I have been putting it off, hoping that things will get better with McKenzie therapy and just "time." Nothing is helping now and I am afraid that I will have to give in to this surgery. NOT EXACTLY LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!
: Thank you,

Dear Sue: I am about 11 weeks post op from S.E.D.-Selected Endoscopic Disectomy and Iam doing
o.k. I am not back to "normal" and I have good days and bad, but it was worth it to have surgury. Pre-surgury I was in terrible pain and I lived on the floor for 2 monts, unable to walk or drive. I am now able to do both, but if I"overdo it" I feel it. I went to the surgeon who invented this technque (in Arizona); the surgury is relatively easy, and if you check the message board, most people are pain-free within a week.
I am in physical therapy and slowly, but steadily
improving. I wish you the best for a fast recovery after surgury.
