I see that most of the post listed under IDET here are negative. I want to let you know not all IDET's are painful. I am 43 yrs. old and have had rheumatiod arthritis since I was 35. I included that because I know what it's like to live with cronic pain. My arthritis has been in remission for the last two years. Enough about that!
I am a rancher and fell and hurt my back working cattle six months ago. I was told when I finally got to the right doctor that I needed IDET for L4-L5 he thought. He did a discogram on L3-L4, L4-L5, and L5-S1 and found it was L4-L5 that was hurt. They did the IDET the same day as the discogram and within 3 days my normal back pain was gone. The only pain was from the bruising in the muscle from the needles. It has been 4 weeks now and the only time now I feel any discomfort is when I set to long or walk to much. I was fitted with a brace at the third week and it sucks but the surgery so far was worth everything. Oh yes we had to drive 450 miles oneway to have this IDET done. Worth the drive!
