: Hi everyone. Just found this board and wanted to say hello and seek the advice of people who know what I am talking about :) My anem is Phoebe adn I am 35 years young and reside in Sydney Australia.
: recently i went to my doc for nagging back pain that had been going on for about a month. He did x-rays which revealed wedging of verterbraes, mild scoliosos, kyphosis of the thoracombular region..and god knows what. I told him about spasms is my feet and trouble urinating so he sent me for CT scans which revealed nothing. So his answer to it was physiotherapy. I asked him what all this stuff on the x-ray meant, I mean for someone who never had back pain all this seemd pretty scarey, he just gave me a passage from a medical journal to read. He did a few things, like press on my spine which was very tender, then said, the pain is just muscular, here have some drugs, and go to physio. Think he has shares in the phsyio practice.
: Not being a Doctor, I want to know what this stuff means and I want someone to explain it to me, I want to know what the future holds and is it going to get worse. I am moving to the USA early next year to marry and I would hate for it to get worse then. I want to see a specialist, get an expert opinion, even if jsut to put my mind at rest, but scared to ask my doctor for a referral now, for fear he will just think I am a hypochondriac.
: I don't know what to do, or if I am making a big thing out of nothing and should I just go to physio and shut up. I should I seek specialist advice. ANything you guys can tell me would be greatly appreciated.
Hello Phoebe, I would like to start out by saying that I can't believe your Dr. scared you so bad and didnt give you all the necessary information. I would get a second opinion. Look around, ask friends, or even in the phone book for a specialist who will answer your questions. You can also do lots of research on the net. In the meantime try to stay comfortable. How is your pain now...is therapy helping you at all? Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon..
