In Reply to: Pain Management for DDD w/herniated disk? posted by Jan on December 17, 2000 at 00:33:48:

Hi Jan, I know how you feel. Being in pain every day is very stressful. What levels are your DDD and herniated disc?

As far as the pain management goes, I think you have nothing to loose by trying it. I would definetly recomment that
you try anything humanly possible to avoid surgery.
The injections are not a big deal really. Well compared to surgery they are not. You might get some relief from your pain, so what do you
have to loose?

I'm glad to see that you are aware of the dangers of pain meds. With that mentality I don't think you should be afraid to see a pain
management doctor. Try to find some one who can offer you more than just a prescription every month though. I was hesitant to see
one too, until I found one who is also an anesthesiologist. He does IDETs, injections, transoraminal epidurals etc.
I'm pleased with him because he is not your typical drug supplier.

Good Luck and I hope you find some relief to your pain soon.
Best wishes
Maria
