After an MRI and discogram, my neurosurgeon wants to do an fusion of L4,L5 and S1. I cannot bend over at all without pain. If anyone could give me some details on this surgery, recovery, any great doctors out there, I would be most appreciative. I am 53 but like to do physical things and I feel that I have no quality of life. I have a conservative doctor. He finally gave me some pain medication but it is like taking sugar pills. If I sit around and do nothing, I can live with the discomfort but if I do even the simplest household chores, my pain is really bad.
