Colds are viruses and we get them during any time of the year. They're spread by contact.

Firstly, are you sure it's a cold and not allergies?

Lemon tea helps the symptoms, you might want to increase vitamin C, suck on zinc losenges and possibly try some over the counter meds (according to your symptoms) that don't cause drowsiness. Allegra is an antihistamine and doesn't cause drowsiness. If it's allergies, it would help...if it's not allergies, it can help stop the sniffles and runny nose.

Wash your hands often, especially after blowing your nose and definitely before you handle your baby or do anything for him/her.

I hope you improve soon. A cold at ANY time of the year is the pits.
