Now for the rest of the story.

Margaret's sister, the one who gave her the poem, isn't exactly know for her honesty. This poem is further proof of that I'm afraid.

I did an internet search on this poem one day while I was just goofing off and guess what I found? I found that this poem was written by a woman named Susan A Jackson. She wrote the poem after her family lost their family pet, a dog, I think it was a Golden Retriever.

I was furious when I first learned this but I've since gotten over it. I have decided that it doesn't matter why it was written, I like it and I feel it was very appropriate and fit in well with Margaret's, twenty month, losing battle to cancer. I also realized that the loss of a family pet can be as traumatic as losing a loved one them self and therefore I feel as though Susan Jackson's sentiments, expressed here, are not that different than my own.

It's a beautiful poem Susan A Jackson. Thank you for writing it.
