Betty this might help: Find the NACB's Guideline 23 from the National Academy of Clinical Biochemistry - print them out and take them to your NFP, they discuss ranges for FT4 and they might help convince her. This is an exerpt of the guideline:
The L-T4 dose should be increased (usually by 50 µg/day) to maintain a serum TSH between 0.5 and 2.0 mIU/L and a serum FT4 in the upper third of the normal reference interval.
