Thanks, yes, there's not doubt in MY mind that my son has asthma. And he is taking Flovent and Singulair. I just found it interesting that they wouldn't formally diagnose it.
I happened to be at my pulminologist after this happened. He also sees children and I talked to him about it. And he said there was no question that it was asthma and he diagnoses patients with it regardless of age or gender. But I never thought about the insurance issue. Oh well, the good thing is that I am so informed on the subject that I will be able to take care of my son and will know what to do when complications arise. The bad thing is that if some other kid out there has asthma, but is not diagnosed and the parents don't know about the condition, the poor kid could be in trouble.
