I have a girlfriend that got Hashi's/hypo in her late 30's, and no one in her family (that she knows of) has it! I hope that you don't have it, but always good to make certain you don't. And I do think that some women get this V thing from allergies too. Do you seem to have sensitive skin in general?
kerry1--I'm glad this information helped you too, and glad to hear it's at least mild now. See what I mean...it seems like it never really goes away for good, altho it can get a whole lot better, thank goodness.
babydog..I will pray that the Estrace cream brings you healing...that would be wonderful!
hugs...

Hi Deda and Lady50,
For April the T4 was 1.1 the reference range was 0.8 - 1.8
In 2001 T4 was 1.3 - same range
This sounds fine to me.
But in looking back on all my blood tests, I don't see a measurement for T3 free. I guess I should ask for that.
But to be frank with you I am almost certain that I don't have a thyroid problem.
The history of how I developed VVD doesn't suggest thyroid. What did happen was that I had a definite bacterial vaginitis that was treated with flagyl and doxyclycline. As a result I developed a very severe yeast infection that requred several weeks of treatment with creams (there was no diflucan back then). Everything was different after that.
I do have a great deal of trouble with allergies. But I have to tell you that since going on Paxil, virtually all my nagging health problems have dissiptated. The paxil has really been a god send.
I have also been suffering from an anal fissure and that has improved since going on the Paxil. The vaginal pain has also improved. I think it is because it relaxes the muscles generally and that includes pelvic muscles I guess.
The only time the VVD gives me trouble is with intercourse and using A&D ointment helps with that. But I still have to be careful.
I am really looking forward to seeing if the estrace makes a difference in my situation. I am really hopeful and excited.
