Emilysusan, sorry you are having to go through this. There is definately a connection between HPV and cervical cell changes. Most cervical cancers take a long time to develop, it is likely if your pap has come back abnormal that it has caught either inflammation or dysplasia (pre-cancerous cell changes). Are you booked for a colposcopy or has your doc said to come back in a period of time for another pap? You can also request a copy of your pap report to see what classification of cell changes were present. That will help you figure out what is going on with your cervix.

I can't give you an answer re: the fluid in the pelvis..
