Lightbulb Need help with hereditary depression, please respond!

I'll try to make this short but please read through and respond if you wish.

Hi, my name is 'Kevin', I'm 18, and this is my first post in this community. As of late my girlfriend ('Diana'), who is 15, has hit some hard times. I can remember back when I was about her age and can remember feeling the things that she describes. Sometimes I still do feel the same way that she currently is, as of late I have a lot. But when I ask her what is wrong and what I can possibly do to help, she says 'I don't know' and has broken down into tears quite a few times. I know she's very confused and I'm being very sensitive of her feelings while trying to help as much as possible.

Today, Diana told me that her father's side of the family has had a regular occurange of Hereditary Depression. After hearing this and then having quite a lengthy, and emotional, conversation, I have come home and immediately began looking into Hereditary Depression: anything and everything I can learn about it. I know I may not be enough to help her combat this confusion, and I may even end up making it worse if I keep trying to help so much, but I hate seeing her in so much mental and emotional anguish.

Please, if you have any information or advice to give me on Hereditary Depression or dealing with Hereditary Depression, respond ASAP. Thank you very much for reading this post, God Bless, and please keep 'Diana' in your prayers.
