Being as this is my last one. I'd like to have a girl but being as I have two boys and a girl and my boys are the younger ones, I wouldn't mind having a boy either since I'm totally prepared for them. lol. My dh really wants a girl. I did one of those intelligender pee tests for giggles and it said girl. So who knows. I like seeing how on or off those tests are. lol. Either way I'm thrilled to death to even be pregnant, I never had any problems conceiving before but it took my dh and I over a year trying to have this one. Funny enough I was on clomid and nothing, I tried preseed lube and nothing, I decided one weekend I give up and viola here I am. lol. GO figure huh? So at this rate a healthy baby is all I really want.
Yay! How exciting. My husband and I want a boy. I am starting to get scared that it will be a girl because I am not prepared for that, I guess. We have lots of boys names picked but never really thought of girls. I guess we will find out in another 3 weeks. Seems like eternity.
It took us exactly a year after being off birth control, they said it could take an entire year and sure enough, I stopped on Labor Day weekend 08 and we found out mid-Sept 09.
So today I went in for my regular check up and an oh so fun colposcopy. I had an abnormal pap right after I got pregnant. So no biopsy, they're just going to check after I have the baby. I had to do my 1 hour glucose tolerance test today, I hate glucola. nasty nasty stuff. I wont get the results back from that next week, I got mine early this time because I had gestational diabetes with my youngest DS. How is everyone else doing?
LiseK-Congratulations on finding out your having a BOY!!!
We already have a 14 month old son and at our 12 week NT scan they said this one is a girl, but I go for my 20 week Level 2 scan this Monday so I am anxious for the doctor to confirm girl. I'll definitely let you all know.
I was surprised to read you already had the glucose test...I don't remember when I had it with my first. They will prob mention it at our next visit.
Other than looking forward to Monday's ultrasound I am busy getting ready for Christmas and trying to keep up the DS. 1 1/2 more weeks of work till my winter break (I teach) Definitely looking forward to some time off.
Take care everyone!! I hope you are all feeling good!!
Congrats LiseK! I go this afternoon for my amniocentesis. I opted for it instead of the screen test to make sure all is ok. If anyone has had one, fill me in on your experience! I'm kinda nervous about it. Other than that, I'm feeling good. Still having bad migraine headaches, but I guess that is to be expected. Hope everyone is doing well!
Well I got a call from my dr today saying I get to go back for a 3 hour glucose test next week. I'm so not looking forward to that. I know where this usually goes.
Shortstuff: Let us know how your amnio goes. I've never had one so I can't tell you what they're like. But good luck!! I'm sure everything will go fine. :-)
I'm here and I have to say, all went well with the procedure! Not much pain at all! I felt the little ***** when they numbed the spot (to put the amnio needle), and the numbing meds stung a bit, but that is it! I felt the amnio needle a tad bit, but that was it! I was relieved that it only took about 5 mins or so, if that! Feeling good now also!
Hi ladies glad to hear all is well with everyone. Sorry I have not been around much, but I have been really exhausted and the heat really getting to me. I am doing well tho and I am looking forward to my appoinment on the 28th. We will not be finding out the gender we did not find out with DD and have decided to keep it a surprise again it was so nice not knowing. I do have a feeling it is a boy tho but we will have to wait and see.
Shortstuff I hope your amnio results are good when do you get them?
Hi Charlene and the rest of you fantastic ladies,
So it turns out I might not have to take the 3 hour glucose tolerance test, yeah that sounds great , the bad part is that it's because they are going to pretty much assume that because I had gestational diabetes with my last pregnancy that I am going to be diabetic again and will treat my pregnancy that way. My 1 hour test came back at 160. oops .
Lise I am sorry that you will be treated as diabetic, but at least you know what it all entails having been through it before. We don't do glucose testing here unless the urine sample shows signs of sugar in it. I did not have one with my last pregnancy so I hope I wont need one this time around.
Thanks Charlene
I'm just kind of taking it in stride. Looking at things on the bright side. This means I'll see my doctor a little more (which is good for my anxiety lol) and with my last pregnancy I had a few more ultrasounds than the average pregnant woman because they had to watch the size of my DS to make sure he wasn't getting too big. He wasn't, I was really good about figuring out what was low carb and sugar free to have instead of things that I really wanted. Sugar free chocolate pudding is pretty good for a substitute for having a sweet tooth. lol. Last time I was really diligent about checking my blood sugar when I was supposed to and watching what I ate and taking my medication before bed and rather than having a HUGE baby I gave birth to a perfectly healthy 7 lb 2 oz boy.
Charlene, it's so weird to read you write how hot it is because we are digging out from the huge snow storm that hit NJ and much of the East Coast. It's pretty to look at, but had kept us in for 2 days.
I went for my 20 week visit and Level 2 ultrasound last Mnoday. All went well! We are definitely having a GIRL!! YEA-now we'll have one of each!
Congrats on having a girl want2beamama!! That's so exciting!
I'm sure seeing the dietitian will be thrilling. It was the last time. a diabetic diet isn't a death sentence or the end of tasty eating as I know it. I've done it before and found that I can find substitutes for all sorts of things I have to give up. It's amazing what they have out there that is sugar free and fantastic. lol.
I got the call from my doc today saying my amnio results were normal and the nurse ask if I wanted to know the sex of the baby and I told her yes, I did. It's a girl! All girls here! WHoo Hoo! Merry Christmas to everyone!
