Re: December Mommies

I just had another OB appointment this evening. Everything is going well. Weight is holding steady, still down in weight! (YES!!) Dr is happy with her growth.
He's sending me for an ultrasound at 36 weeks to be sure of her positioning and her size (just in case because of my weight loss).
But overall, he's quite happy with how things are going. So nice to hear!

Re: December Mommies

That's good, I went for an ultra sound yesterday and she is weighing in at 4 pounds 7 ounces. I am up like 60 pounds though, lol.

I have been in a lot of pain and have been missing work because of it. My doctor is supposed to write me off work at my next appointment which is next thursday but it honestly can't get here soon enough. I have 1 more day I need to make it into work and the rest will be my holidays which I have been using up. I have been having a lot of contractions so I keep telling work I can't go in because I need to rest and it hurts so much to walk now. I don't know how I am going to do this for another 2 months.

Re: December Mommies

Khandii, That sucks that you have to wait until next week to be put off work. You'll really enjoy the time off and the ability to rest when you need to!
Contractions, yes, I've just started with BH this week. They don't hurt, but are getting quite uncomfortable. Guess I'll just have to get used to them! (They only get worse! haha)
I have been having some groin pain when I walk, she's really low and pushing on nerves. My husband is great though, he makes sure I get my rest. I was sweeping the other day and had some pretty bad cramping. He grabbed the broom and pushed me into a chair. He's such a sweetheart, even though I feel like an invalid sometimes! LOL

HeavenSent4Love, welcome! How has your pregnancy been going? Are you off work yet? Do you know what you're having? Boy/girl/twins?

If you haven't read my other posts, I'm having a little girl, EDD is December 9th. This is our first.

Re: December Mommies

Hi there! Been a while! How are things going?
Things here are going great. We've got the nursery done now, turned out great! I'll try to post some pictures.
Baby girl is doing great, we had an ultrasound done yesterday, lots of fluid, she's in the right possition, and she's estimated at 5.72lbs! Big girl! I'm 35w 6days now.
I do have A LOT of pelvis pain and pressure and my groin is still killing me! I can't wait to see my doctor tomorrow to see what's going on in there. Appointment is booked for Tuesday. I'm really starting to think she'll be coming early.
My husband just told me that his buddies at work have started a baby pool, betting on the day and time that she'll be born. I think it's so cute!
How are you ladies doing?

Re: December Mommies

Hi girls! Don't know if any of you are still watching this thread, but I wanted to add my birth story for you.
We had an ultrasound at the beginning of November that showed baby was in the 20th percentile, quite small, and more importantly that I had low amniotic fluid. So a few weeks later we did another ultrasound to check the growth and the fluid levels. The fluid was showing VERY low, so up to the L&D floor I went.
They decided to let me go home but had me on the top of the induction list.
9am the next day, Tuesday, they called me in.
The induction started at 12pm, 1st dose of Cervadil went in. 12 hours later, after starting from scratch, I was only 1.5cm dilated and 50% effaced. 2nd dose goes in. Another 12 hours later I progressed to 2cm (I was quite disappointed at this!) 3rd dose took me to bearly 3cm. They broke my water at this point and things started moving a lot faster. I begged for an epidural right after they broke my water, the BEST choice I've ever made! So very worth the back pain while they were putting it in!!
At 5am on the 9th we started with the Oxitocin. That REALLY got things going, jumped to 5cm in 4hours, increased the dose of Oxitocin, 1hour later was fully dilated and ready to push!
45 minutes of pushing later, my beautiful Paula was born.
Had some slight tearing, very minor repairs.
We were then kept for 36hours because she was SO tiny, 6lbs 6oz, we needed to check her blood sugar for the first day and a half. (the most heart breaking thing to see you little one get pricked so many times and screetch each time!)
after switching over to formula, she was doing great.
So, on her due date (yay for being one of the 5% to birth on due date)
6lbs 6oz
19" long

We're home, trying to figure out a good feeding schedule. But loving every second of it!

I hope to hear your stories soon!
