Question Is chicken pox bad for a 4 month old?

Our 2 yr old is now preschool now and Friday morning had red bumps on his collarbone. Well him and our other son and a Dr appt Friday, and the Dr saw him and sure enough the 2 yr old has chicken pox . He gave us meds to make the bumps fewer and last only about 3-5 day and not 2 weeks, but I was told by friends and family that its better for our 4 month old to get them now. I asked the Dr on Friday and he said its not really good and if he does get the bumps to call him and he will order the meds. I gave our older 2 boys the chicken pox shot, so they are OK, but just to be safe I am keeping them away. The 2 yr old was suposed to have the shot at a "sick" visit 3 weeks ago, but dad forgot to ask , nothing we can do now. He is now covered head to toe, no matter what that Rx said it would do, I mean in his ears, back, neck, scalp, toes, EVERYTHING! I am just wondering, since its airborn, should my 4 month old catch it, is it harmful??
