Both tonsil and adenoid surgery are serious enough that it should not be used as a tool to change the sound of your voice. It's not like an elective cosmetic surgery. Unless there is a medical need for you to have them removed, it's really a very bad idea to do it just to try to change your voice.

I don't think any doctor worth his credentials would perform the surgery for you without a medical need.

And if you read the messages here from people who have had it done, you would see how bad the recovery is from this surgery. It's no picnic. It's probably the hardest thing I've ever had to go through in my life. Thankfully it's only a memory now, but it's one that I'm sure I'll never forget.
