before my eyes got as bad as they are now, i used to wear contacts and i could tell a difference in vision..i could see better with the contacts..i had to give them up thought due to a sudden dry eye problem..i loved my contacts..never had any trouble with them..i wore the gas permeable type..theyre between a soft and a hard contact..taking care of them is a bit more trouble than glasses however i thought it was well worth it...most dr's now will let you try a pair before you purchase, atleast my dr did..consult with you dr (the one who said you could wear contacts)...good luck
