Any news on triptans going OTC?

I know I had read somewhere about triptans going OTC sometime in 2007 or 2008 and was wondering if anyone knew if that was true? I know that Imitrex is OTC in Europe.

My neurologist is good about prescribing them to me, but my insurance company will only approve for me to have 12 per month for $20. I don't know that when they go OTC, they'll be any cheaper (they probably won't), but at least if I need more than what my insurance company will approve, I'll have that option. 12 a month is enough usually, but I have to be careful I don't use them to carelessly. I call them my "little gold pills" because they are hard for me get but they WORK SO WELL! I have found Relpax to work the best for me with the least amount of side effects.

I have also read that sumaptriptan would probably be the first to go OTC and I do not tolerate Immitrex very well, so that was dissapointing to hear. Anyone else know more than me?

Thanks,
Jane
