| Re: kidney pain
thanks, they had to cut a small section and reattach her ureter{sp} I assume this is normal procedure and we were told this would make the nausea she was having go away. 6 weeks before this she also had surgery to remove a LARGE ovarian mass that was thought to be cancer but turned out to be benign. She had lost 20 lbs in the space of a yrs time which was what prompted the nuerology dr to odrder the US to see if she had KS due to the topamax she was on for her headaches. We were definely not prepared for the Rad Dr to tell us what the US showed that day.
Since then she has still been plagued with the nausea, is it the spinal fluid in her brain or her kidney making her ill? {still} She finally gained the weight back , tried out for cheerleading but she is only half a shell. She runs low grade fevers every day, has nausea and the headaches well those she lives with everyday due to her brain defect{absence of the septum pellucidium} . She will have a H/A everyday for the rest of her life and has , since she could talk. Yet she is an Honor student and doesn't let {or tries not to} this affect her. But some days I think it is hard, it is hard as a mother to watch your child suffer.
