| Hormones and diet
I now realize I had RLS as a child. It went away at puberty. It returned with a vengance with menopause. It subsided with hormone replacement therapy, and came back again when I stoped taking estrogen.
Recently I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. When I had been on a gluten free diet for a few weeks I noticed that I rarely had and RLS episode.
It is no wonder to me that finding a good treatment for this is so difficult. It seems we all have different triggers and different ways to cope. When I do have a problem I rub my legs with Mineral Ice. That seems to help after a few minutes.
