Acidic discharge from eyes

Hello all.

Anyone else with Sjogren's have an acidic discharge from their eyes?

Eye drops do nothing to help. My dry eyes feel like grit is in them.
I have a lot of trouble reading or writing or using the computer.
My eyes also hurt most after dark, even after a nap (so it's not like it is accumulated stress from the daytime).

The acidic discharge started about 10 years ago, before I had sore eyes or trouble reading/writing. Sjogren's was diagnosed 2 years ago but I had it for 2 years before that. The opthalmologists who examined me all kept insisting I didn't have "Dry Eye" because I didn't have damage to the structure of the eye, but couldn't explain my eye pain. Finally I was sent to a rheumatologist who within minutes diagnosed Sjogren's. I later was diagnosed with severe sleep apnea (stopped breathing 76 times an hour in my sleep test), so am using a CPAP now and getting better sleep...which I hope might eventually allow my body to heal itself and settle the immune system down enough to get rid of the Sjogren's (fingers crossed!).

Any thoughts?
