High RDW/RBC, Low MCV, MCH, and Hemoglobin, Normal Hematocrit

Hi all. I recently got a blood test for Hepatitis (I tested negative) from my buprenorphine doctor (a psychologist) The blood test also included a blood count panel. Just for reference, I've been told that I most likely have the Thalassemia trait.

Red blood cell count......6.52 (High)......Normal: 4.20-5.80
Hemoglobin..................12.9 (Low)......Normal: 13.2-17.1
MCV...........................61.5 (Low)......Normal: 80.0-100.0
MCH...........................19.8 (Low)......Normal: 27.0-33.0
RDW...........................16.5 (High).....Normal: 11.0-15.0
MCHC.........................32.2 (Normal)..Normal: 32.0-36.0
Hematocrit..................40.1 (Normal)..Normal: 38.5-50.0

My psychologist told me I likely don't have anemia because my hematocrit is within normal ranges. I have an appointment soon with my general doctor to do a follow-up test. Can anyone give any insight so I don't panic too much?

Thanks-
Ryan
