Had MRI and told it was scaphoid fracture, top of bone dead and possible torn ligament.
Surgeon said surgery was it. So ended up with bone graft and screw and ligamrnt anchored back down. The past couple of days have been hell. Fingers was finally going back down but top of hand burns like crazy and then it feels as though someone is grabbing my wrist and constantly squeezing. I go Tuesday for stitches out and casting. Doc said I could be in cast for 3 months. How long is this turning out gor you?
Sorry for any mistakes but typing with one hand (boy is this a lot of work)! |
I was actually in constant pain for about a week, and then I really couldn't it for another 2-3 weeks. I got the cast off in only 4 weeks, but now I'm not so sure it was a good idea. I still have a decent amount of bone pain and I'm not sure the second half healed. I go for a check-up in two weeks. I'd advise that the longer you keep the cast, the better.
