Whoa...I read through this twice, and I'm not sure I grasped it all. This seems like one of the steps in progression of medicine, but hard to see just how far it will lead.
I recall talking with one of my doctors about my (now 17-year old) son needing to start getting PSA tests by the age of 35 or 40 (start early, since PC is in the family), but then he paused, and said reflectively, almost to himself, something like, "But by that time they will be doing much more refined testing by analyzing the individual's genes."
Maybe we're seeing into that future now.
