Re: Hpv

I just saw this message.

HPV is a bad "test" of fidelity.

Once exposed to HPV it can takes months, years, or decades to manifest itself into a problem (if it does at all). My husband and I had been together for almost 15 years when I was diagnosed with high risk HPV 1.5 years ago). Things were rough for a while, but we are still together and better than ever. We had a very rough year to year and a half (I was later diagnosed with cervical cancer even though I'd had good annual paps every year for 25 years).

It is likely you were exposed to HPV at your first sexual experience (and that doesn't mean just sexual intercourse; many forms of foreplay can transmit HPV).

What did your doctor say was your next step? A colposcopy and biopsy? if so, ask for an ECC (endocervical curettage). It is the only non-surgical way to check the cells in the cervical canal.
