We all get the flu shot in my family. You can practice BOTH medical and natural ways to prevent the flu. Nothing is 100% either way. You could still get the flu with a shot and of course, without. My son has never had a reaction to the shot and I feel good about giving it to him each year. However, I am not sure if I plan to give my son the swine flu shot. Still reading and educating myself on that issue.
