I have come to the end of my road with these horrible tonsil stones and my ENT has finally offered a tonsil "shave" as a possible answer.

I am a 34 year old male and although I think I have a high tolerance for pain, one simply cannot ignore all the horror stories regarding adults having their tonsils removed.

I was wondering, can anyone point out the differences in pain and/or recovery time between a complete removal of the tonsils vs. a shaving?

Any information is greatly appreciated; thanks!
